The Manatee County School Board met on Tuesday, September 26th to discuss the makeup days for the Hurricane Irma school closures. Commissioner of Education Pam Stewart authorized the waiver of two days of instructional time as a result of required school closures due to Hurricane Irma. Per this waiver, students are only required to make-up four days of instructional time. The Manatee County School Board has made the following changes to the schedule:
- 10 minutes will be added to the end of the school day for all students, starting Monday, October 2, 2017, through Wednesday, December 20, 2017
- October 4 Full Day for Students
- November 20 Student Day
- November 21 Student Day
- December 6 Full Day for Students
This will affect Manatee School of Arts & Sciences in the following ways…the new dismissal time for MSAS will now be 3:10pm., effective Monday, October 2, 2017, through Wednesday, December 20, 2017 and students are required to attend school on November 20 and November 21, 2017.
